Does Medicare or Medicade pay for Highland Ridge?

No.  Neither of the above agencies pay for these services.  It is privately paid.  However, some people carry long-term care insurance that covers costs of an assisted living depending on the individual policy.

Will I ever have to move out of Highland Ridge?

 Kentucky law requires that a client must be ambulatory or be mobile non-ambulatory, such as able to get around with a walker or in a wheelchair without assistance.  Any client who needs health care services must receive those services from an outside agency or person, or otherwise be required to move out of the assisted living community.

In addition, any client who poses a danger to self or others must move out.  Last a client who is unable to continue paying for services must be given at least a 30-day notice from us.  In this case, the assisted living community must assist the client in finding appropriate living arrangements.

Can I bring my car to Highland Ridge?

Yes, as long as you and your doctor feel you have no physical limitations to prevent  being a safe driver.

Who regulates assisted living communities in Kentucky?

Kentucky’s Office of Aging Services conducts annual certification reviews, or as often as needed of every assisted living community to determine compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.

Is a client bound to a long term lease at Highland Ridge?

No, it is a month to month lease. Respite stays are also welcomed when vacancies are available.
